What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

I always like space to show off the quilting, and this is one of the few project files where I have used pieced block designs as quilting motifs on an applique quilt design.

The first of today’s pair of designs shows off the quilting just the way I like it.

In the second design I love the way the quilting motifs frame the applique.

There are not many designs in this file … I think I might find some time today to add some more for future blog posts.

I love the quilting designs in both of today’s virtual quilts.

In addition to the lines in blank areas of the quilt design I would outline quilt all the applique pieces.

Love the centre of the second quilt … particularly the quilting lines.

Ooops! Pity I missed a bit of quilting in the top row!

Simple layout, not so simple applique!

I wanted to add some quilting ideas, but found very little in my block library which would be useful in these designs. My usual quilting focuses on outlining the applique design pieces, about 1/8th of an inch outside the pieces, and then filling in the background spaces with similar designs with simple fillers, such as cross hatch, straight lines, either set straight or on the diagonal, or stippling to fill in the spaces.
